Digital marketing and especially conversion optimisation is about people. Don’t forget that. People are not data points; they are not merely visitor but potential customers or clients.
I offer a limited number of websites reviews each week. We, and I mean we meet on Zoom. I ask a few questions and then off we go for thirty minutes looking at some key elements. We’ll also chat about your goals, not just revenue, but what you offer, why people should buy from you. You know, like regular adults and not geek spouting ‘blow hards.’
The Foundations of Website Conversions
Are many and broad but the very first thing we’ll do is set the benchmark. That is where your website (plus your social, traffic sources and most important your email list) is and we’ll touch on where you want to go. From domain authority to the tech underlying your digital marketing efforts, all will be considered.
A.I. Danger
You may have asked a handy A.I. chat what you should be doing. You may even have received answers you thought applicable to your business. You could even have asked for a marketing plan. One problem, isn’t there? A.I. chats are not accountable. “Sorry Karen, I got that wrong.” Is an answer you’ll never receive.
When I get something wrong, I’ll respond with a constructive apology, one that will negate that ‘wrong.’
We want ‘people’ to talk about you and mention you, that is citations, all to help build traffic with intent and appear attractive to Large Language Models (LLMs).
Some Points to Remember About the Digital World
- Google Analytics tells you what people are doing. Not the why.
- A.I. Is derivative and really works as autofill and cares not that is may be wrong. It may even be perpetrating something wrong or out of date as it doesn’t know stuff, unlike people.
- Your successful competitor? They may be getting a lot wrong.
- Falling on the latest buzz, ie A.I. or GEO (Generative Experience Optimisation) is a mistake. Search Optimisation is still highly relevant.
- Google offers clues. Your homework is to look up the Google content model E.E.A.T.
What Can be Achieve in a 30min Video Call
Perhaps just a confirmation you are on the right track from someone who knows what they are talking about.
- Perhaps something that is a waste of money.
- Perhaps a silly mistake that is overlooked (eg making address line 2 compulsory on a form).
- Perhaps a formatting thing because you’ve reviewed the website on desktop and not on mobile.
- Perhaps, a simple focus on one aspect.
